Role

Researcher & Designer

Each graphic was placed in the template we designed, with the corresponding text on the opposite side. Each page of the final book, which totals over 200 pages, was printed and cut out by hand. The pages are numbered sequentially with a thematic index at the back, but the publication is designed to be tactile, allowing it to be experienced out of order.

Creative Process

Vectorizing each of the 25 images – first in black & white, then with the chosen color palette incorporated

Using Photovoice methodology, I reflected on how our culture and past experience can shape design practice and day-to-day life

Collaborative photo collages, with photos grouped into thematic categories surrounding culture

Material & construction

Box laser-cut from thick cardstock and then spray-painted navy to match color palette

Heavyweight cardstock ensures durability and emphasizes the texture of the spray-painted finish, while the dense uncoated pages encourage deliberate handling
